Webinar on the ethical principles in Artificial Intelligence: the role of the private sector
On 24 November 2021, the UNESCO General Conference in Paris unanimously approved the International Recommendation on Ethics in Artificial Intelligence. The Recommendation resulted from a two-year process involving dozens of public consultations and the work of several experts, culminating in the first global standard-setting instrument on the ethics of Artificial Intelligence. To celebrate the first anniversary of this crucial international milestone, UNESCO and the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (Associação Brasileira de Empresas de Software - ABES) will hold a webinar on November 24, 2022, at 10:00 am.
The webinar will open to the public to celebrate the date and reflect on the importance of private sector engagement in discussions about the ethical dilemmas of artificial intelligence. At the meeting, UNESCO will also announce the creation of a business group in Latin America to promote these reflections and support the implementation of the Recommendation in the region's countries.
