Webinar: Bringing living heritage to the classroom in East Asia (cover)

On 10 August 2023, a upcoming online webinar to introduce the approach in bringing living heritage to schools for East Asian countries will be organized by UNESCO and the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICHCAP), with generous support provided by Asia-Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO (ACCU), Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO and UNESCO International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development (ICCSD).



A 3-hour webinar will be organized targeting primarily teachers and educators, but also other stakeholders from North-East Asian countries. The key content of the webinars will be to:

  1. introduce the concepts of ICH, ICH safeguarding and benefits of bringing ICH in schools for both culture and education sectors;
  2. familiarize the audience with the 6-step methodology to bring ICH in schools;
  3. to motivate teachers and educators to develop activities in their school that integrate ICH; and
  4. create exchange opportunities for teachers and educators across the countries, and eventually to establish a network of schools who jointly promote the approach to bring ICH in education.



Simultaneous translation will be provided in the 4 North-East Asian languages to provide access to interested participants who don’t speak English.
