Cartoons for Freedom of Expression - World Press Freedom Day 2023

For the 30th anniversary of World Press Freedom Day, UNESCO and Cartooning for Peace launch a campaign that talks about the importance of freedom of expression in guaranteeing human rights. Because we cannot defend our rights to free expression, education, health, equal access to justice without a free press that exposes abuses and provides information to assert our rights.

Special guest: The New Yorker

As the global celebration of the World Press Freedom Day takes place in the UN Headquarters in New York, this year, UNESCO and Cartooning for Peace are proud to invite The New Yorker as a special guest sharing a selection of cartoons in line with the Day's theme: Shaping a Future of Rights, Freedom of expression as an enabler of other rights.

Download them in different languages and share in your social media networks!
