The office represents UNESCO to United Nations office in Geneva while mantaining close contacts with representatives, secretariats of UN Funds and Programmes as well as specialized agencies. The office liaises and mantains official relations with international instituitions, foundations and other members of Genève international.

Education for the future

UNESCO is committed to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. In 2015, UNESCO was entrusted to lead and coordinate Education 2030 through guidance and technical support within the overall Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. UNESCO implements projects across the world that promote equal access to quality education regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or background.

Freedom of Expression and Human Rights

To ensure that these rights are available to everyone across all cultures, UNESCO collaborates with other partners to mainstream human rights within the UN system and collaborates closely with governments in the field to identify, highlight, and develop responses to human rights challenges. These fundamental rights include freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, right to life and liberty, work and education, and many more.
