In a world where partnerships are an essential driving force for sustainable development, the Malaysia-UNESCO Cooperation Programme (MUCP) stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when we unite in pursuit of a common goal. For the past ten years, the Government of Malaysia and UNESCO have worked hand in hand to promote and support various educational, scientific, and cultural activities across Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in Asia, the Pacific and Africa. The MUCP serves as a platform for collaboration with the overall goal of fostering sustainable development, preserving cultural heritage, and advancing knowledge and innovation.

As we embark on a journey to commemorate a decade of fruitful collaboration, UNESCO and the Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO will host a commemorative event from 22 - 24 June 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event will serve as a platform to honor the achievements of the MUCP and its significant impact on sustainable development.

This event holds the promise of strengthening the partnership between UNESCO and the Government of Malaysia. Over the years, this collaboration has fostered relationships with regional partners, including UNESCO Category I and II centers, and engaged a diverse range of stakeholders, such as government officials, non-governmental organizations, civil society, academia, youth, and UNESCO networks. By embracing the spirit of South-South Cooperation, the MUCP has become a melting pot of expertise, where participants can share their knowledge, exchange ideas, and address key challenges faced by countries of the global south, LDCs and SIDS.

Dialogue and knowledge exchange lie at the heart of this event. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in high-level discussions and panel sessions, where they can explore innovative solutions, highlight best practices, and forge new partnerships. By bringing together countries of the Global South and other stakeholders, the event aims to foster a deeper understanding of sustainable development and cultural preservation, ultimately leading to a more interconnected and collaborative world.

A highlight of the event will be the launch of the MUCP Coffee Table Book—a compilation of success stories that encapsulate the essence of the program's transformative impact. This book will be a testament and serve as a source of inspiration for future generations and a reminder of the immense potential that lies within partnerships.

This exhibition will serve as a catalyst for collaboration, sparking conversations, and paving the way for future partnerships and initiatives.
