Project
Innovative conservation education – Vietnam’s first Carnivore and Pangolin Education Centre
Save Vietnam’s Wildlife has rescued confiscated carnivores and pangolins from illegal hunting and trade. After being treated, these animals are released back into the wild to replenish wild populations. The NGO holds 6 species of carnivores and pangolins that cannot be released for various reasons. It has found an appropriate placement for these animals to ensure their welfare and conservation education value. A solution that raises awareness and educates on nature conservation in Vietnam.
Save Vietnam’s Wildlife has created the first immersive carnivore and pangolin education centre in Vietnam. Located in Cuc Phuong National Park, it allows visitors to learn about wildlife in an engaging atmosphere. Its innovative design combines seven large enclosures with interactive computer graphics and engaging experiences. The space has been designed to evoke emotional responses and encourage engagement with wildlife. One of the keys to the success of this education centre has been the training of Cuc Phuong National Park staff to accompany guests.
A place to learn about conservation
Vietnam now has a unique destination to learn and demonstrate its interest and commitment to saving carnivores and pangolins. About 10,000 children and 1,500 teachers and parents living in the buffer zone of Cuc Phuong National Park come to visit, learn, and experience the education centre. The centre has become a place of learning and experience for participants of some programmes, to exchange experiences and nature expeditions from conservation organisations in Vietnam. Government agencies, partners, NGOs, etc. come to observe and learn from the model, form ideas for action plans and conservation strategies.
Save Vietnam’s Wildlife wants to further optimise its centre. One of the NGO’s goals is to duplicate the model in Pu Mat National Park.
Why not discover this centre?
